Andy Lloyd

Gloucester artist Andy LloydAndy specialises in portraiture using acrylics as a medium.  He has been painting since 1990 and is a regular exhibitor at the Cheltenham Open Air Art Exhibition, for which he organises publicity.

His aim is to create technically accurate paintings that provide clear focus, preferably by creating an effect similar to photography's shallow depth of field.  His technique is to apply light layers of acrylic that coalesce to provide an 'air-brushed' style.  His romantic portrait paintings are distinctive and immediately recognisable.  This year, Andy is collaborating with the Croatian model Daniela Sendula to create an exciting new exhibition of paintings.

Recent additions to this page are his murals from 2006, and his bespoke commercial work, which appears in publicity brochures for schools.

Andy paints a lot of portraits, but also creates landscapes and occasionally wildlife paintings.  His work is representative, as you might expect of an artist interested in portrait painting.  But his art can also be colourful and vibrant.  You can buy original paintings directly from Andy, using a secure credit card payment via PayPal.  He is also now offering greetings cards featuring some of his most popular designs, at very reasonable prices indeed!

Andy is the Webmaster of cheltenham-art.com.  He is also a popular science writer and has had a book published, entitled 'The Dark Star' © Timeless Voyager Press 2005, available from Amazon.com. His artwork also appears on his MySpace page.
